Call for Artists

For those applying to be a mural artist for the Street Art Society of NEPA’s West Side Mural Revitalization Project, Phase II, please read below and complete the form questions.

Attention Artists:
The Street Art Society of NEPA was awarded a grant to continue implementing mural art in effort to beautify local communities. This grant will initiate Phase II of the West Side Mural Revitalization Project, and cover the cost of materials, equipment, and artist labor needed to paint murals on buildings in the municipalities of Pringle, Forty-Fort, Swoyersville, Exeter, and West Wyoming.

Payment to artists will be based on number of square feet of wall space and according to level of detail. Artists can expect to receive payment of approximately $1,000 -$4,000 depending on the size and scope of the project. Because this is a community project funded by a State reimbursed grant, it could take up to 12 weeks after a mural is complete before a participating artist would receive payment.

We are looking for experienced mural artists who have a desire to be involved in this community revitalization project, and who have a body of work demonstrating their skill and style.

Applicants must …

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have strong artistic skills, and the desire and diligence to paint a large scale work of art on a building.
  • Have reliable transportation to the site, and space in their schedule to be able to complete the mural within an agreed upon time-frame.
  • Be willing to sign a release of liability contract to remove the Street Art Society, property owners, and the participating municipalities from any legal or financial responsibility toward any potential accident, injury, or property damage that may occur while painting.

This form and all submitted art works are due Friday, March 18th at 12:00 noon, EST. The SAS NEPA board will notify all artists of our intent to work with you within 2 weeks of the submission deadline. Upon review of submissions, we will select a number of finalists with whom to collaborate on the specific designs for each mural.
